Malaysia's Prasarana raises 2 bln rgt via sukuk

KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 (Reuters) - State-owned Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd SYAR.UL has raised 2 billion ringgit ($545 million) from Islamic bonds or sukuk, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

The government-guaranteed issuance was in two tranches, a five-year 1.5 billion ringgit sukuk and a 10-year 500 million ringgit sukuk. Proceeds will go towards meeting working capital needs and for capital expenditure.

Prasarana, which owns and operates various public transport utilities in the capital, last raised 2 billion ringgit in March 2014. ID:nL3N0M12JP

CIMB Investment Bank CIMB.KL , Maybank Investment Bank MBBM.KL were lead arrangers, while Kenanga Investment Bank SKPE_ty.KL and RHB Investment Bank RHBC.KL joined as lead managers and bookrunners.
